I love helping kind, compassionate teens and young adults express themselves more confidently and effectively so they can feel more productive with their personal and professional goals, and more satisfied with their friendships, family and romantic relationships. I also enjoy helping young adults who struggle with negative body image or other self-worth issues, health concerns such as tick borne illnesses/OCD/PANS/PANDAS; supporting them through the life adjustments/challenges/grief/fear, and anything else that comes up related to their diagnosis, and/or OCD-related behaviors to feel better and change the way they relate to themselves and others.
Another specialty of mine is supporting caregivers (parents/adult children) who set their needs aside to support a loved one. Caregiving responsibilities & relationships are complicated & can bring up feelings of stress, guilt, exhaustion, & grief while navigating the role changes within the family.
If you struggle with an inner critic that tells you you’re not good enough, or you find yourself second (and third, and fourth) guessing your decisions to the point that you sometimes feel paralyzed and don’t take any action, I would love to help!
I can help you develop routines and habits that make it easier to get started when you’re stuck, and learn to identify what you need out of life so you can begin treating yourself with the same kindness that you do everyone else you care about.
Change happens incrementally, not overnight. I enjoys supporting adults of all ages, including elders, who are struggling with anxiety, depression, people-pleasing tendencies, life transitions, stress-management, and emotional dysregulation.
When you’re going through a challenging time and are looking to experience change, it’s normal to feel overwhelmed by everything you “should” be doing to achieve your goals. I strongly believe that “small hinges swing big doors”. We’ll start by working together to identify your goals, and I’ll teach you how to make small changes that will make a big difference in your life.
I use a holistic, client-centered approach and, depending on where you are in your journey/what your goals are, I incorporate skills from CBT, Mindfulness, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and practice from a somatic trauma and attachment lens based in Polyvagal Theory. I intend to complete training in EMDR in March, 2024 and can offer this therapy method in my work with clients now.
We’'ll work collaboratively to identify your inherent strengths and you’ll be able to practice your new skills so you become empowered to use them in moving toward the life you deserve.
Before earning my MSW, I became a Certified Health Coach in 2018. I offer coaching as well as therapy at BA Healing, depending on your needs. My goal is to provide you with an open, accepting and non-judgmental space to work through your challenges while providing you with the tools to maintain progress.

Ilana earned her masters degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland. She completed EMDRIA-approved EMDR Basic Training through the Institute for Creative Mindfulness in 2024. She has worked with children, adolescents and adults in private practice and with elders at an assisted living community. Ilana is supervised by practice owner Laura Reagan, LCSW-C, an integrative, somatic, trauma and attachment focused therapist.
