Meet the Team at The Baltimore Annapolis Center for Integrative Healing!

At BA Healing, we specialize in trauma and attachment focused psychotherapy with teens and adults.

All of our therapists are trained in the effects of trauma on child development and how attachment wounds interfere with well-being and relationships in adulthood.

We provide individual therapy, Attachment Focused EMDR, Brainspotting, Psychedelic Integration, yoga therapy, health coaching and parent coaching to adults.

Our therapy work focuses on what is causing the problem, rather than only symptom reduction.

You don’t have to live with anxiety, depression, people pleasing, low self-worth, sleep problems, suicidal thoughts, relationship issues, disordered eating/body image concerns, boundary violations and/or addictive behaviors for your whole life. Healing is possible!

The “Integrative” part of our name refers to two things. First of all, it references our integrative approach to psychotherapy, which is different from the traditional “top down” psychotherapy approaches most people think of when searching for a counselor. In an integrative approach, thoughts, feelings and behavior are part of our work, but not the whole story.

Our approach to healing includes “bottom-up” therapy approaches as well as traditional therapy methods. We use specialized bottom-up therapies based in Attachment Theories, Polyvagal Theory and relational neuroscience in our work. These include:

  • Attachment Focused EMDR

  • Somatic Experiencing

  • Mindful Self-Compassion

  • Embodied Recovery for Eating Disorders

  • Sensorimotor Psychotherapy

  • Brainspotting

  • Psychedelic Integration

  • Expressive Arts

  • Sensory Modulation

  • We use mindfulness and breath to help with grounding and co-regulation

  • Yoga therapy, and more.

Additionally, we use trauma-sensitive “top down” therapy methods including:

  • Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT),

  • DBT,

  • Motivational Interviewing,

  • Parts Work/IFS and

  • Psychodynamic therapy as well.

We’re lifelong learners and have invested heavily in evidence based trainings to elevate our skills so we can serve the needs of our community most effectively.

The second reason we are called Integrative Psychotherapists is because our perspective on healing includes the belief that the parts of ourselves that we are detached from hold so much wisdom and by integrating these “shadow” aspects of ourselves held in our unconscious minds, we can reconnect with our authentic nature or highest self, leading us to feel whole and rooted in our lives.

We operate from an anti-oppressive, social justice-focused lens and understand symptoms and behaviors through that perspective.

You are accepted, just as you are, when you work with us at BA Healing.

We understand that all humans need to feel a sense of worthiness and belonging and many things have been happening in our world to interfere with that connected feeling, including racism, oppression, colonization, sexism and anti-LGBTQ+ policies.

We help you reconnect to the feeling of self love and safety, which may have been lost through negative experiences from your early years, or other painful and traumatic losses that have happened over your lifetime.

We are LGBTQ+ and Polyamory affirming and welcoming and we are working to embody anti-racism in our personal and professional lives. We welcome and affirm all cultures, ethnicities, body sizes, religious beliefs and identities. This is an intentionally non-violent, liberation-focused space.
